Pretty Much the Worst Week Ever

Last week, which included this and this, ended yesterday with word that my step-grandpa died. It was not sudden, he had been sick quite some time. He was an extremely kind man with a fantastic sense of humor. He will be missed.

Despite the ugliness this past week has brought I'm okay. But I'm getting tired of writing sad serious things and I just need a couple of days to regroup.

Meanwhile, thanks for all your kind words from last post. I know not everyone understands why I am so passionate about this cause. You don't have to. Accepting that it's part of who I am is enough.

sorry it's been such a rough week. You take all the time you need to get feeling better, we will be here when you are ready to blog again.

I can't say I totally understand what motivates you, but I can easily see myself in your shoes if I laid my soul bare and let the world flood in. It's a brave thing you do.

Any reality to this?

Scott-
I always new that under the hard shell there was a soft creamy center...
I don't know about that article. I never get excited about stuff like that before it's even seen any clinical trials. There is lots of promising research in the pipeline so that in the next ten years I think we'll see a flood of new and innovative cancer therapies. Maybe I will even be able to contribute! I've never heard of that magazine though. I clicked on the link to the research group and that research has not been published in the high impact research journals like Nature or Science which makes me skeptical.

Ok. I'm glad you took a look though. I tend to get excited, like I did a couple years ago about a company called Onyx. I haven't heard of them since.
