Opening Day

We're gonna win, Twins!
We're gonna score!
We're gonna win, Twins!
Watch that baseball soar!
Knock out a homerun,
Shout a "Hip Hooray!"
Cheer for the Minnesota Twins to-day!

Opening day was officially yesterday, but the Twins don't play until tomorrow. We went to our last spring training game on Saturday and sent our boys home to Minnesota for the season. It is always sad to see them go and exciting to have the baseball season start. For Minnesotans, it signals an end to winter misery.

What was okay about the boys leaving was that this year we ordered the baseball package through our digital cable. It was a splurge but it will be worth it and we'll save money by not having to go to a sportsbar every fifth game to see Santana pitch. It'll will also severely cut into my reading time. And my work time.

Yay! Baseball is one sport that I'm just barely starting to watch. Although I understand you joy in the starting of a new season. Hockey is just about in playoffs, and I can't wait, it looks like my Edmonton Oilers will make it this year! :)

I feel the same way about splurging for the NFL package, but of late I've had to abstain. The price is climbing out of control.

Enjoy the season. I wish I were as excited about the Red Sox.

jackie-
I hope you get into baseball. It's not just a sport, it's a mind set.

runner girl-
Did you see that front page pic Sunday with all the Rays players wearing Joe Maddon glasses? it was hilarious.

lefty-
I'd like to see some stats about people hitting grand slams on opening day. very cool.

scott-
The price is out of control. Is it the same for football as for baseball? Cause baseball has 10 times as many games. I was concerned too except that I think Dean got his money's worth yesterday alone. He watched like 4 games. I've resigned myself to the notion that I probably won't actually talk to him til November.
